Have you ever asked the question: “Where do I start?” “What next?” or “Why am I still a photographer?” At some point or another, we can get caught up in the “industry” of photography and lose ourselves and our (he)art in the demands and expectations of clients, colleagues, and social media.

Taking on a project is one way of re-centering ourselves and remembering why we became a photographer in the first place. It’s a time of introspective work, a time to rejuvenate, a time to refine our techniques and sharpen our eyes and hearts as a photographer, and a time to re-define our purpose.

In “The Power of the Personal Project” I will share how after photographing weddings for over a decade, I re-discovered myself as a photographer and my true purpose in life through a personal project. You will hear how my photography technical skills grew from photographing friends in their homes to directing celebrities and a 20-person crew on location, how I went from small art shows in coffee shops to large-scale solo exhibits in historical buildings, and the steps I took to overcome my extreme introverted shy nature so that she could speak on camera and in public. Most importantly, I will talk about the emotions and power of sharing your gift through a personal project.

One small idea, one small personal project can have an immense positive impact for ourselves, friends, family, neighbors, city, community and even the world.

Whether you have been photographing for thirty years or just picked up your first camera, you will be inspired by this seminar.
