America: Morgan in Indiana
“Telling America’s stories my way from the highway.”
Wednesday, February 26, 2014
Good morning, Morgan! She works at Gloria Jean’s Coffees in the Gene Stratton Porter travel plaza off the Indiana Toll Road.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with travel plazas, they are those awesome, self-sustaining little communities that make it convenient to hop off the highway, fuel up, get coffee, snacks, and walk around a bit. In my honest opinion they are the best thing about traveling via the expressways with tolls.
Morgan lives about 15 miles away from work and is here every day serving coffee to locals and long-distance travelers alike, listening to their stories while studying to be a nurse so that she can travel all over the United States to help people.
Her dream is to travel and see Montana, North Carolina, Washington DC, and Jamaica. With a big smile, she said that someday when she goes to Jamaica, she will pick fruit straight off the trees and eat it.
Even though her family doesn’t understand why she would ever want to leave the small town, that doesn’t stop Morgan from doing something different than the expected and achieving her dreams.
