55 Minutes with Lyla la Coeur
“Working Artists of Theatre” series continues capturing the private lives of performers with producer and burlesque artist Lyla la Coeur.
I was introduced to Lyla many years ago. Throughout our beautiful friendship we’ve always talked about fun photo shoots we could do together, so when I asked to take her portrait in a series of 5 burlesque dancers that included Fuchsia FoXXX, Diva le Déviant, Jesse Belle-Jones and Cherry Manhattan, it was absolutely natural (and about time!) to have the opportunity to photograph her.
Lyla is the most beautiful woman I know inside and out. Hands down. [details to her upcoming shows below]
When I arrived at her home, she graciously let me re-arrange her furniture, and help select clothing to meet the concept we agreed upon. Once we started shooting, her gorgeous shepherd decided that he didn’t want to be left out even for a second. He confidently walked into the shot, sat by her feet and looked straight at the camera.
Best. Dog. Ever.
