44 Minutes with Jesse Belle-Jones
Continuing my photography essay of Seattle’s theatre scene, I have been honored with having access to the private lives of some of the most talented and beautiful people who spend their lives studying art in all forms.
Jesse and I were introduced via email and we quickly set a date for her shoot. Keeping with the theme in my current “Working Artists of Theatre” project, I explained that with the series of 5 burlesque dancers: Fuchsia FoXXX, Diva le Déviant, herself, Lyla la Coeur and Cherry Manhattan (coming soon!), I wanted to be able to document the real woman in her every day life. I asked her to choose a location where she would feel the most comfortable being her true self. The goal of the previsualization, was to guide the viewer to the conception of how she would want her true self shown off-stage.
The location Jesse chose was our gorgeous Seattle Public Library downtown. With is modern architectural design and collection of fine books, it was a place where a wealth of knowledge is stored in a piece of art.
Jesse Belle-Jones is THE “Modern Sexual Intellectual.” [details to her upcoming shows below]
