Q&A with technical director Dana Perreault
PhotoSister: When you were young, did you imagine you would be on this particular journey in life? Why or why not?
Dana Perreault: Does anybody? I did think, “I would like to work insane hours, and make little money.” So naturally the quest to find the right career started there 😉
PS: Who or what inspires you the most in your personal life? And in your professional life?
DP: This changes so often, it is had to say.
PS: What is the one thing you splurge on for yourself?
DP: Motorcycles. I wouldn’t say I have a problem, more of a collection.
PS: What 3 countries would you like to visit and what would you like to experience while there?
DP: On the list, but haven’t been to yet… India, Iceland, Russia. All for different specific reasons, but all to experience their culture. I am fascinated with how others live, and love to experience it.
PS: What made you want to do theatre?
DP: Theatre captured my heart because it includes so many of my interests. Design, engineering, building, motors, hydraulics, gears, magic, manipulation, project management, discovering solutions, etc…
PS: If you could have anyone in history to be on stage with, who would it be and what scene would you play out?
DP: Robert Edmond Jones, he simplified design, and merged it with the show. Without his influence, we would just have stage settings and not scenery.
PS: What is your hidden talent (any party tricks)?
DP: I can juggle, and use it to chill me out.
PS: The Beatles or Elvis?
DP: Beatles
PS: What is your favorite restaurant pick in Seattle and the best dish on the menu?
DP: Seared Ahi at Jak’s Grill, however for something a little less formal, my staple is Talarico’s in West Seattle, a slice of Tarantino hits the spot.
PS: What do you fear the most?
DP: Not making the deadline.
PS: What makes you happy?
DP: I am happy at the end of a long day that I have accomplished a bunch of tasks.
PS: What kind of people do you surround yourself with?
DP: I tend to surround myself with people who are positive about life. Seems to keep me from falling into the abyss.
PS: What personal adventure do you have in store for yourself this summer?
DP: Paris in September.
PS: What’s next on your horizon?
DP: I run a small laser engraving business, and will return to spending the majority of my energy on its growth.
