Jon’s good friend, Kenny Bolieiro, was at Road Atlanta the weekend I went to Georgia to photograph AMA Pro Rider, Huntley Nash of LTD Racing, and it was a blast to hang out with him and his son, Kenny Jr. all weekend.
The first day there, I set up a pop-up studio inside the crew tent: two black velvet curtains as an “L” corner backdrop (one side attached to LTD’s trailer, the other side attached to the tent poles) with “A” Clamps from Home Depot. My only source of light was natural light spilling into the tent form the asphalt, and to test my camera settings I asked Kenny if he wouldn’t mind sitting in as my “test model” to get my pop-up studio dialed in.
Dude brought his A-game and had me cracking up in the first few seconds with funny and outrageous expressions. I totally appreciate people who can make me genuinely laugh in their true comedic spirit. And then just like that, he changed his model pose to a more serious side. Look out Zoolander!

My post-processing is all done in Lightroom 4 using my own custom recipes made with Totally Rad!’s Lightroom Presets, Totally Rad!’s Replichrome I: Icons, with a final polish in Photoshop CS5 using more custom special sauce with Totally Rad!’s Pro Retouch + TR Action Mix 1 + TR Action Mix 2: The Revenge.
