A big part of this MotoAmerica series is to capture all the members of a team that make them who they are. Every single person is important in making sure the riders and the their bikes are in perfect form for speeding down the track in competition.
Well, the teams are extremely busy working on race weekends so when I create their portrait, I hurry to first set up my pop-up studio, then I have to shoot very very quickly. But in-between each portrait, I wait. A lot. And I’m not always sure when the appropriate moment is when I can grab one of the guys, I mean they are constantly busy and very rarely seen standing still. The team is a machine when working together. Each person has a very specific job and they move around the bikes in perfect harmony. It’s awesome.
So while hanging out in the Turbo Turtle Racing tent during MotoAmerica at Road America, there was this awesome guy with an awesome smile who was super busy but took the time to sit in front of my camera. That was Harry Anderson. He’s one of the mechanics on Stefano Mesa’s motorcycle and also occasionally on Danny Eslick’s.
