There will be a #SPARKLETARD in this post!

Meet the fun loving choreographer of Modern Luv 2, Hillary Gault.

Our dancing queen not only has double major in theatre and dance, but she’s a fantastic writer, performer, and friend. She brings the fun to ever occasion and even brought weights to this photo shoot to keep it funny. Oh yes, she has a killer jump kick, which was part of my challenge to capture in this What’s In Your Closet? Photo Sister special.

To make this shoot even more special, makeup and hair stylist Jamyrlyn Mallaroy (Faces by Ja), joined in the fun and brought her beautiful styling and keen eye for detail. Her skills and talent totally took this shoot over the top!

Hillary will be performing in her #SPARKLETARD while leading her choreography in Mark Siano’s famous Modern Luv 2 at the Triple Door, THIS WEEK March 15-17, 2012. [details to her upcoming shows below]

Photography details

Camera Settings Outdoors:
I stuck with my 60mm lens most of the day, which on my D200 cropped sensor is the equivalent to a 90mm making the perfect portrait lens. (Before anyone mentions “you should upgrade to a full frame sensor camera”, please note that I am aware of this fact.) My alternative lens was my trusty Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5 set at 22mm, again the equivalent of a 33mm lens.

Lighting:
Honestly, even though my Nikon SB-800 flash with the Micro Apollo light modifier from Westcott was attached to my camera, I had it turned off and used almost all natural light during this shoot. There were a few times the clouds were not in my favor so I pumped up my flash on Manual setting 1/4.

Gear: Kit:RS-W1 women’s sling strap
Think Tank Photo Pro Speed Belt – LOVE THIS! It’s my new favorite way to shoot
